Canada and UK Strengthen Work Permit Agreement with Expanded Youth Mobility Arrangement
In a significant announcement, Canada and the United Kingdom have revealed the signing of a new Canada-United Kingdom (UK) Youth Mobility Arrangement.
Expected to be effective from 2024, the new arrangement brings numerous enhancements to the existing youth mobility agreement between the two nations. Currently open to individuals aged 18 to 30, the current agreement offers a two-year visa period.
Since its inception in 2008, the youth mobility agreement’s primary goal has been to foster mutual work opportunities in both Canada and the UK. The expansion of this agreement is poised to further bolster work prospects and cultural exchanges for young people in both countries, providing an enriching experience for the youth community.
